Hello everyone. Do you guys know anything about a 15' StarCraft Trihull? It has a 30 hp Yamaha on it. Supposedly garage kept. Thanks.

It won't be much of a speed demon and probably not good for any more then tubing. It "might" not even plane out properly. The rule of thumb is to keep at least 70-75% of the maximum HP on the transom so the boat will perform properly. Starcraft has not manufactured a small tri-hull in years and the older ones (Circa late 1970's) were rated at 85 HP so a 30 hp would not be strong enough. I would see you getting dissatisfied early on.

Thanks for the info. I emailed the owner and asked if the hull was glass or aluminum. He said glass. I'm not interested.

Chances of locating an aluminum tri-hull are RARE (Very rare). Depending on what you are looking to spend, what the main use will be and what the budget is will really make the difference. A 15' boat that is not a bow-rider will become cramped fairly quick....... a 16' bow rider is good for a small family. Starcraft, Sea Nymph and many more are good reliable and rebuild-able boats. Another key thing is be willing to travel to find one ;)
