150 EFI Water Pump question

Hi, Sorry this may be a dumb question. I changed out the circulating water pump in the lower unit on my 07 150efi. It actually looked really good but I was in there anyways so I changed it. My question is what should I see for water pressure running the starting muffs. I get around 5 psi on idle but when I open it up to around 4000 rpm I don't see more than 10 psi. Now I can't remember on running with the muffs before if that is how it was until I get the boat in the water. Can someone let me know if that's normal to see around 10psi at 4000 rpm with muffs on. I won't get it in the water for a little while and just don't want a problem. Thanks for any help

What is your engine s/n as your previous posts say 2006 but here you say 2007.

The manual I have says 12 psi Minimum @ 5500 rpm, so at 4000 you are probably right on.

But I think you have to be careful running it that high just on muffs, the engine should be in the water so there is a load on the prop.

Thanks. I just push it up quick just to rev it up. I don't let it run at those rpms on muffs. I know in the water its well over 20 psi. That's last year. I just couldn't remember with the muffs on what it did. I guess I'll have to get it in the water and see. I'm sure I'm ok
