Ahoy! - I have a 2002 Evinrude 150 carbureted...One carb is leaking alot of fuel internally from a tube that goes from the float bowl to the throat of the carb. Not sure what this tube is for but it appears to comes into play at WOT as all 6 carbs have some fuel from this tube then. I've checked float level, needle and seat condition. All are ok. Fuel does leak when I squeeze the primer bulb the first couple times but then stops and the bulb gets hard. Please help...Thanks

Re: 150 hp Carb leaking fuel

IF the float is at the correct level...then when the carb is full of gas it should seat the needle correctly and close off any more gas. One thing that it could be is the stem gasket.Gas comes in on the high speed orifice, up the shaft and out through that hole that you mentioned. There is a gasket that seals the stem when you join the two halves. If that little gasket is not placed correctly...it doesn't matter if the needle is seated right. Gas will come in through there and up the hole. I had that happen in one of my carbs when I re-did my six. Had to take that one apart again and seat that gasket correctly.
