I recently purchased a Bumblebee bass boat with a Evenrude 150 v6.. supposedly a master boat builder with 60 years experience went through it replacing all the wiring , fuel lines, electronics, oil injection, installed new fuel injection system, etc. The guy had paperwork showing a little over 7K in repair and upgrades. The problem I'm having is after starting and letting it idle for a couple of minutes and trying to take off, it bogs down and dies..I can leave it at idle and it will run all day. I can keep the choke activated and throttle it up and it wont die but it seems to be starving for fuel. I've been an industrial mechanic for 40 years but a boat mechanic I'm not. What would be some common causes to check before handling it over to a boat mechanic
thanks in advance

You say it has a choke which would put it as puts it as a late 70s model, however what you think is a choke might actually be an Enrichment system. Then you mention Electronics and then Fuel injection...There were several different 150s made, a crossflow, a looper, a FICHT, an E-tec, and also a G2. . A Model # would be nice.

Why don't you call him about it. If I sold someone an engine I worked on and that happened, I would tell the person to bring it over for a look.

He had a Master Boat Boat Builder look at it? I would have taken it to an Evinrude Service Shop and have a Mechanic look at it
