Hey all, have a shot at a 1997 150 ocean runner,is that engine the newre 60 degree with the oring head gaskets?also ,anyone have any input as to the performance of these engines,I left the business about the time they came out, rebuilt a few because of fuel issues,I personally didnt like the oring idea, but Im old school. My boat had a mid eighties seadrive, the 2.6 which I believe had 150 hp approx.at the flywheel?the oil injection was disconnected ,I would like to,for space reasons continue without the oil injection. Thanks for any replies.I definatly wont be interested if its a ficht.Mike

Re: 150 ocean runner info.

Mike, I have a '98 150HP OceanRunner. It is the 60 degree V6. The '97 is the same, I believe.

It has the orings for a cylinder head, although you need to put a bead of blue ATV silicone around each water passage before you put the head on. LOL

My motor has tremendous low end power. I have never had to open the throttle all the way, even with eight in the boat and one on the tube. I have it on a 21' DC, BTW.

I think it is one of the best motors I have ever seen, although I hate the idea that I may someday need to rebuild and adjust the six carbs.

Yes, the 60* have O ring'd heads. Not a bad deal at all.

The 60* 150 will have more zing than the old 2.6 crossflow. If you want another one I have a 92 I'll sell ya and you can have twins.....

Yep, thought I had it gone but fell thru. In fact we're going to Islamorada in 7 days. Can get it that far anyway.
