150 opti too much for 18.5 fisher? 135 maybe?

Hey guys I'm getting ready to buy a new boat. I'll be pulling skiers, and doing a lot of fishing. I was planning on the 150 optimax but wondered if its to much motor for a 18.5 deep V. Or can you have to much motor? The boat weighs app 1500# dry. Maybe I'd be better off with the 135 optimax???? thanks for the help.

pulling skiers, you want the max hp the boat is rated for. skier's want that great hole shot to get out of the water, then slow it down.

What is the boat rated for? Don't exceed that rating but meeting it is no issue.

Just because you have the extra ponies doesn't mean you have to use them.
