150HP Mariner won't pee while idling

I have a 1988 150HP Mariner Magnum II that will not pee at an idle or at low speeds. I already replaced the water pump last year with no results.What now?

Did you replace just the impeller or the whole kit (housing)?

Impeller and housing could be the problem. However you might pull off the cooling hoses and check them for corrosion build up. Ensure all fittings are also free of debris

Replaced the whole kit

Probably be a good idea to replace the thermostats and inspect/rebuild the poppet valves as necessary.<br /><br />Assuming you've already backflushed the telltale or blown compressed air thru it.
