I am having some engine problems so I did a compression test and it turns out both cylinders have 150lbs of compression. Went right up there after about 3-4 seconds of cranking. Is this to much?
Seems very high for a 1989 40 hp motor. I called my friend who loaned me the tester to see what readings he got on his engine. He stated 112-115lbs, so im thinking this tester is reading high and im more like 120-30lbs and he is under well under 100. Or do I have a big carbon build up here or something?
PS: my engine problem is one cyl is only running at idle and dies when throtling up. Was going to ask for help on this in another thread.
Thanks all.
