hi guys! i just bought my first boat and need a little help picking a prop. i searched but couldnt find an answer. the boat is an 89 seaswirl sierra classic with a 150xp evinrude. i have gotten to take it out about two times. at wot it is at 5200rpms, about 45mph according to speedo on boat. the prop on it is 15x17. next time out i will take the gps to check speed. i am not doing any skiing, but will probably buy a tube to pull around sometimes. i will mostly be fishing and cruising. i was hoping for a good all around prop. i hope this is enough info, i can get more if not. let know what you guys think. this is an awesome website for boat info!

Re: 150xp prop

You're a tad shy on rpm. If the motor is all the way down, try raising it some. That should improve overall efficiency and gain some top rpm. The big diameter should work well on that boat.

Good, the hull responded. How about trim range, can you use all of it before the prop breaks loose? Or does it break loose (lose grip) before you reach full trim?
