15hp Mariner year?

I have acquired a 15hp Mariner with almost all the parts and I am trying to get the rest from here and there. I can not seam to find the year that this one was made from the serial number.
684C S 060169
If any one knows a place that I can find the year by the Serial number I would be grateful.
The one I have looks almost exactly like this one.

Tho this one dose not have the year posted on it either.

I am also trying to verify my motor as it looks like yours and has serial 065213 and code 684 C which i am thinking i saw the code is the year. I was told mine was a 1984 and looks like the one you posted but mine says made in Japan. If you find anything will you let me know also. thanks
