Well I haven't posted anything on this forum in a while and now I am coming running back for advice! lol. Anyways I have a mid 80's 15hp longshaft evinrude and had the carbs gone over. It fires right up and runs perfect except I am not getting any water out of the pisser.

Would a water pump kit take care of this? And how hard on a scale of 1-10 would it be to put on? Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

I have changed the water pump in my johnson 25 many times and it has usually been pretty easy. I would recommend getting a manual first though most of them have step by step instructions with illustrations to guide you through it. On a scale from 1-10 I would give it a 5, of course the more you do it the easier it becomes. You could probably go to the library and find the manual to help you through it. Good luck. Meatloaf

Have you tried running a piece of weed-eater line up the tell-tale hose? Is it getting hot? Dirt dobbers and other trash love to find their way in that thing and clog it up.
The impeller isn't bad except for the first time you do it!;) Then it's easy.
Really, though, it's not bad. Just be sure you don't lose the impeller drive pin (tiny part). Be sure to disconnect the shift rod or your lower unit won't come off all the way and you'll be wondering why. A manual will make it really easy.
Good luck--nice motor!
