Good day,

My bro is looking at a 16 foot used Boston Whaler with no motor on it. Does anyone know the weight of this boat ? and perhaps the max engine size it can take ?

Thank you

Need the model, pecheux. There have been several 16' Whalers.

You can start right here. Find the year and model and you'll get weight and max. hp...

Boston Whaler 16 Guardian I cannot find it in the list supplied by Jolin

I would guess weight would be around 1500 lbs Wildguessing = 90 hp max

Yep, basically it's an heavy-duty (150lbs more of fiberglass) Montauk. 1100lbs, max 100hp.

That's for the "classic" 1983-2000 version. From 2001 and up, specs are differents, with the Accutrak hull http://www.brunswickcgp.com/boat/17-guardian/

As to whether or not the classic "smirked" hull is better or not than the new Accutrak hull, let's simply say it's still an unsolved debate...
