Right now I own a 1990 Misty Harbor 16" Square Hulled pontoon boat. Last season I noticed it sits very low in the water, and I belive that the foam inside the floats is water logged. I have removed the caps to drain them and let it sit for quite some time but the boat still seems to be quite heavier than when I originally got it. I have now begun to remove one of the pontoons and was wondering what advice anyone may have in getting these things dry again, The plan for now is to pull one off, look inside to see how bad the foam is and if i have to remove the foam inside and refill it.. any advice? any tips? is this a common problem?? Help!

Thanks,

-Kevin

Drill a hole in the top of the tubes near the front -- to allow air in then let it stand and reseal the hole with a silicone rubber

If the foam is completely waterlogged, it may never dry. Is there a way to get inside to remove the foam, or will you have to cut it open? If you can get at it, just remove the old foam, and get some new 2part foam to replace it, problem solved. Of course, you will also need to find the leaks that started all this and seal them. Good luck....
