Hi,
I currently replaced the old Solas 11.6 X 12 amiga 3 c+ for larger boat that came with the boat for a smaller Spitfire 10.3X 13 4 blades
My Motor: Mercury 40 HP 2012 gear ratio 2.0 5500-6000 RPM
My boat: Aluminum 8 degree deadrise, 15 foots, 400 KG +140 KG for me and some gears.
Old prop data : WOT 5000 RPM tiny tach acceleration : ok Top speed : 32 GPS calculated slip : -10%
negative slip ?? maybe the cupping is increasing the effective pitch ???? solas website compare this prop to a 13 inch pitch on their part number list.
New spitfire : WOT 6000 RPM tiny tach acceleration : great Top speed: 30.5 GPS calculated slip: 16%
My question : would a 14 inches pitch reduce the slip %? is 16% acceptable since the boat run fine other then a little lost of top speed?
Also, since the boat handle great and jump out of the hole without going over the 6000 RPM , would it be better to leave it as is?
thanks,
