16 ss end cap etc

Hello,
I am new and really like what this board offers. We have a 1962 Starcraft Jupiter with 50 honda. My 14 year old drives it all over the lake. This boat is the "darling" of the lake. Everyone loves it.
We just recently bought a 16 ft supersport , 1982 that needs allot of work and we are looking forward to a great summer with it. My goal is to find a used 90 hp Honda for it. What do you think?

My real problem is that we are missing one of the rear corner end caps.
I realize I could get one made, but is there a place to purchase a replacement.

Last question, does anyone know how we can find and install a fuel tank in one of these boats. Its has the ski loacker in the floor which we would like to keep. Where does the built in fuel tanl go?

This boat is an interesting story, it was in a highway accident 2 week old( ie back in 1982). Then it sat in a garage until now.

I am looking forward to being involved on the site and already sepnd too many hours reading, looking at the pictures and dreaming of our boat being completed.

Welcome Mat. I sent a PM. Belly tanks are available but it depends on what you want, (capacity, location). You can mount under the deck or on the sides near the gunwales. Either one will require some modification to the boat although its not bad. I found mine on CL and you can also find them on Ebay. You can even check a local boat salvage yard if available. Post some pics of your boat so we can envy it too.

Welcome aboard Matlok!
Check out one of earlier threads on the end caps. I'm going to fab some for myself and it sounds like they will be exactly what you need. Mine may not be a perfect match to the orginal but very close. I might be able to set you up with a new pair at reasonable cost. PM me if your interested.
