What is the comon problems with these motors and can you find blocks heads? What's a swap for them just need some insight on what it could be? I fear cracked block but can't seem to pin point it exactly...is it aluminum heads? Can they warp...I'm thinking a bad winterization which I didn't do

You might repost this on the I/O forum. The exhaust manifolds are water cooled, and can rust out. Headgaskets do leak. Blocks do crack. All of these allow water into the cylinders and/or crankcase. The guys on the I/O forum are experts....

Hi Guys:

(i) Not really many inherent problems with a 165!
(ii) If you have water in the oil, the most likely cause is a cracked block from improper winterization.
(iii) You can find a new block either online or in a local yard. Try a local engine rebuilder.
(iv) The head can warp and the gasket can deteriorate which could cause the problem. No the head is not aluminum.

First check the joint between the head and the block for leakage. If that's OK, remove the manifold and check below to identify a horizontal crack which is the most common place for a 165 to crack. Good luck.

There's only one way to check for a cracked block and that is to pressure test it with an air compressor with the head installed.

You cannot do it visually.

Can they warp...I'm thinking a bad winterization which I didn't do

You didn't do a "Bad" winterization, or you didn't winterize at all?

I didn't do the winterization sorry just realized I bought the boat after winter and I never said that. I did pressure test the block heard noise in the valve cover nothing below threw the dip stick...on another note I took my head to a shop said it has no leaks but was warped badly also the guy must of used a lot of lock tire on the head bolts which I don't think your supposed to do that so I'm thinking bad sealing of a head gasket..I hope
