Hello, all - been lurking a while, bought my first boat last weekend - needs lots and I'm starting with the engine. Step 1, get fuel from point A to point B. I'm ordering a rebuild kit for my Carter fuel pump and getting lots of info by lurking in these here forums (thanks for that!).

Reading this thread I've discovered why there is a threaded hole on my pump, but it was just open - no fitting, no hose, nutin'. I know it's supposed to lead to the carb, but can anyone tell (better yet, show) me just how/where it connects on the carb end? I'd like to know before I tear into rebuilding my carb in case it's a wrong carb. Your question? Which carb - it's a Rochester 2 Jet 7043183. I already have that rebuild kit.

Now, FWIW & JSYK, I never took auto shop. I sell money. I do consider myself somewhat mechanically inclined (used to do automation in a theatre), but type slow and loud so I can keep up! ;)

It connects to the fitting in this picture. You may have a vent from the valve cover going ot it now, if so vent the valve cover to the flame arrestor and connect fuel pump tube to the fitting on carb.

Okay! Exactly what I was looking for. That spot has a threaded plug in it now - is there any particular fitting I need there (and at the fuel pump), or can I go to the plumbing section and get a brass fitting for each end, threads to barbs, and is there any particular hose type I should use?
