Hello All - I had previously posted regarding the fact that my boat has a typcial automotive alternator installed - bypassing the regulator - a single wire post. I want to make sure that it is wired in properly, cause I ran the motor and lost one of the batteries - and I was reading like 18volts on the meter. I had one of those battery switches, between 1 & 2 batteries, and it seemed to be that switch, since I had 12v on the battery I lost. I want to make sure my genius predecessor, who showed off how well the engine ran on the boat without running water to the stern drive, had this done by someone other than himself.

Basically, the original regulator had 2 yellow red wires that went to the alternator, which I see are not used. The orange wire from the regulator went to the starter, and the red-purple wire went to the circuit breaker.

With the original regulator gone, where should the orange wire be terminated, now? Same with the Red-Purple wire - where should that be terminated now?

Thanks for your help guys.

Ayuh,... Just tape them off,+ tuck 'em into the harness...

Thanks for the reply Don. Wouldn't that leave the 50 amp breaker open? Are you saying I don't need that breaker?
