just acquired a 16 ft pontoon with 40 hp force(cheap) Currently has a 121/2 x 8 pitch prop. The prop apparently is a solid hub, thru hub exhaust. The prop is acting as if it is a slipping hub or caviation. Am thinking cavitation due to the 8 p prop. Anyone with similar setup and a prop recommendation. You can get everything from a 8 pitch to a 17 pitch. Thanks for replies. Don

As you may know toons are sensitive to cavitation(ventilation).
Is the prop in excellent shape?Have you tried different trim settings?
Usually a spun hub is spun and will not work and will slip at about the same point every time. You can put a pernanent mark across the under side of the
hub and chack it after you run the motor.
You could try lowering the motor but I think I would try a 4 blade 8 inch prop.
