Purchased a excellent condition 1996 Jetcraft, it hasn’t been in the water for 2 years and been under cover. The outer skin only shows sign of paint rubs along the upper sides where the prior owner to the one I bought it from had it tied to a dock. Ill be replacing the circuit panel up front because the the push breakers keep popping just to turn on the accessory switch for the radio, or lights. After reading the forums I decided to pull flooring up to check the floatation foam. Close to 200 lbs of foam removed. And the space it was removed from isn’t that deep, total 2 sections 9’ long 18” wide 1.5” deep by sidewall to 6” deep by center strut. I am leaning toward using the XPS sheets to refill the shallow void. The other question I had was the two transom ends were filled with foam, and two batteries in the middle. Which didn’t leave much room for water to drain to the bilge from the deck. When I pulled the deck from the rear it was caked in silt and crap both on the rear top edge and underneath. I do plan on taking it out on salt water so water on the deck sitting would probably not be a good thing even after washing it down. I was thinking of using the two ends of the transom area to slide a battery in each, then fabricating a door to cover the two ends, leaving open access to the bilge in the middle. My other though was to get a drop in dry box to go in the center void in front of the gas tank.
