18 HP gas leak

What would cause motor to not draw fuel from tank. Also fuel leaks into
motor compartment from down low around ether the manifold or crankcase?.

The fuel pump is what draws fuel from the tank to the carb. Do you see the fuel leak when you pump the primer bulb? Could be a broken hose or defective fuel pump.

Ok I just removed the manifold again as I just replaced broken leaf and found fuel on the lower part of the gasket.. Did I not tighten it enough or is gasket sealer to be used? Will this cause it to not draw fuel. There are no apparent leaks when I prime only leak when running. Thank you for your help. MIke.

New fuel hoses all around all tight.

No, the manifold does not have any efect on the fuel pump. The pump must be pulling fuel from the tank or it would not run. If it only leaks when running, I would think the leak must be upstream of the pump. If it was down stream of the pump it would suck air rather than fuel. Look real close at the line from the pump to the carb and the carb itself.

Ok I am going to assume I need to tighten the manifold tighter to stop the leak. I forgot the pump Is vacuum operated at the back of it. So it must be a faulty pump for it to not draw fuel.It will run if I keep priming when need. Is there a way to check the pump.

You are correct, I did not see where you said you had to keep pumping the bulb to keep it running.
You have pretty much ansewered your question, if you have to pump the bulb to keep it running you need to rebuild/replace the pump. They used to offer rebuild kits.
