hi anyone out there know anything about wiring to 18 hp merc pre 85 model unsure of the year its unearthed somewhere cant find it tho its doing my head in its almost rebuilt
Hello jezzabacon, you'll have to consider posting a bit of information about the motor, perhaps the serial number to begin with? Recent pictures and a lot more detail of the trouble would help too.
yeh mate im not sure what the serial number isi am out at work and will be for the next 3 weeks sorry its my first boat and motor its been going fine for the last 6 months since ive owned it.
ok ive reconditioned the carby thinking thats what it was the jets blocked up but it is getting fuel but just no spark it turns over sometimes but wont idle or start up at all and all i know is someones having a look at it for me while im at work and he said that somewhere its unearthed between the stator the coils and the wiring unit im sorry i dont know anything about outboards until now im very much a novice
any help is appreciated
