Should I be concerned about this many hours on twin 350 FWC engines?
I know maintenance is a big issue, or lack of, but on average how many hours can one expect out of these engines if regularly maintained?
Thank you. :)

It depends mostly on how they've been used. 500hrs@WOT will wear out most pleasure gas engines but the same engine might do 2500++ at 1600rpm. Do a compression check.

If you're looking to Buy a boat with these engines,+ Keep it Awhile.... I'd consider the Refit Costs in my Offer.... A Complete Engine Survey will give you an Idea of their health....
I'm sure there are 10,000hrs small blocks out there...... But, they are Rare....
2000 is pretty High Hours....

You can look at it this way if helpful...2500 hours is about the equivalent of 100,000 miles on an automobile engine.

Right now I've got a son with a Honda Prelude that's got 177,000 miles on it and runs like a charm. I've also had engine failures at 90,000. You've got to do the diagnostics to determine internal engine wear...compression check, etc.
