Hello. As I am just getting into boating I have a question that maybe easy for someone else to answer.I was given a 18hp Evinrude a couple of months back with hopes that I can use it on my 14 foot aluminum. The only setback that I have is I wan't the tiller handle(not sure if terms are correct. This motor was used on a boat with a throttle handle and a steering wheel. Is it possible to convert it over?

Sure! you can put the tiller handle back on. Give us a model number, you will find this on a small metal plate riveted to the transom mounting bracket. We need the model number to find the year.

loco,<br />Let me know what model it is and I have one that would probably fit you could have. Someone gave me a 18 some months ago and it's just stuck back in the shop.

All that I could find this morning was the plate with the serial number on it(2327). I opened the cowling but could not find the model #.
