Have 2003 268XF Albemarle 5.7 GXI 320 hp with DP-E 190 Volvo Penta Outdrive, Boat on trailer and off into the water, Trim motor 3/4 down and after blower motors ran engine started and could not drop the outdrive any further, So I trimed the motor all the way up and still would not lower? Pulled the soleniods (all green on contacts) cleanded and used electricla cleaner and lube, still No-Go. I can hear the soleniods click but the drive remains frozen, is there a ground wire from pump to...? if so what color if other than black and where would the fuses be located on this craft?
Thanks for any assistance, will be greatly appreciated!Albe Outdrive.jpg

Re: 190 DP-E Trim Motor will not work

Probably one of the relays failed internally, it takes both to go up, and both to go down. If one of them just click but doesn't make contact electrically the trim pump motor will not run.

This may help too http://forums.iboats.com/volvo-pent...ives/volvo-power-tilt-not-working-492684.html not for the DPE in particular, but then again the DPE was not used on in 2003 on sterndrive engines. Usually only found them on diesels.

Here is the wiring diagram out of the manual. No troubleshooting information other than the diagram in the manual.

Thank you very much Don, I will utilize the documentation you have provided and start testing all connections. I will also purchase new relays, never hurts to have spares aboard, When I purchased this craft last June the motor only had 210 hrs and the engine runs great and have changed all fluids/filters and impeller. But the drive was not maintained, I learned this after I had to rebuild both out drive Hydraulic Rams, replaced the Hydraulic lines and re hubbed both SS props because I could not remove after a week of PB blaster to get to the front Anode and the outdrive oil I changed. So now this problem with the trim/tilt. The Albemarle was never kept in the water, first owner utilized a Boatel and the second owner whom I purchased from kept on a lift which tells me he didnt service the outdrive properley. I will keep you informed of what the outcome is with the trim/tilt.
Again thanks for your time and services.
