190 mercruiser

could someone please tell me what type engine will bolt up to the bell houseing on a mercruiser 190.would it be ford or chevy or either.thanks in advance for your help.

If you are asking what to convert to....I have read that you can almost directly convert to the 3.0L mercruiser without much hassle and you can even go to a 4.3 but there is alot involved.<br /><br />this link gives a better explanation: http://www.mercruiserparts.com/mercury_mercruiser_3-7.htm <br /><br />Just a side note.... if you are replacing a 470/190 (4 cyl mercruiser with a closed cooling system I would be interested in your old parts.<br /><br />Bob rpf924@stowetel.com
