1900 Sprint Sport Craft with AQ131D engine

So, my problem is that my boat wont start due to so electrical problem. But i dot know where to begin. I have replaced all the fuses and there is one fuse that doesn't have a wire and there are two loose wires. also on the throttle control there is a button missing not really sure if i need that any tips?

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard Ryan,... Tell Us some more 'bout yer motor, 'n what it's not doin',...

Is there a Battery, that's fully charged hooked up to it,..??

Do you have a Test Light,..?? Multimeter,..??

It will not start and it does have a battery just bought it. Im not sure about the Test Light or the Multimeter. i am a senior in high school and to graduate you have to do a senior project and since we have had a boat sitting in our yard for the past 3 years i thought that would be a go project.

Im not sure about the Test Light or the Multimeter.

They are tools for testing electrical items. Do you know anything about electrical troubleshooting?

You say it doesn't start. What does that mean? Does the engine crank over and not start, or does it not turn over at all? aka starter not working.

Assuming the engine isn't cranking over, Read this HOW TO: Troubleshooting your engines starting system - Page 1 - 167035

Another thing you need to do is head over to this link Publication search - Publications / Manuals : Volvo Penta
Type in your engine model number and download the owners manual. It has the wiring diagrams in it for your engine.

This may be a project, but you do realize it's also an expensive one?

The engine does not turn over.
Thanks and yeah i know it is expensive just not sure how expensive

Depends on what all is wrong with the engine and drive, what condition the boat itself is in (Transom rot?) if the transom is rotten, you have to pull the engine, transom shield and drive and rebuild the transom.

How long has it been setting? What kind of maintenance been done on it recently.

it has been sitting for about 3 years but it is in pretty good condition not really sure what a transom shield is though. and i have washed it a few times and waxed it twice but that's about it.
