1946-1950 2.5 Johnson seahorse

I inherited a 2.5hp Johnson. Does any know where I’d find the serial number? I’d like to narrow down the year.

If I remember correctly, the model and serial numbers are stamped on a flat place on the cylinder block. Opposite side from the carburetor "I think".

Thanks. I found the serial number! It is 59397 model HD-25, 1946-1950 era. Any ideas where I could find a manual?

59397 was built in 1947. I don't think I've seen a model specific service manual for one. Ken Cook Co may have a reprint of the owner's manual.
