I just picked up a Alumacraft QM 18'. Not much information out there on these boats that I have found. I have been reading some of your posts. Some have been inquiring about original seating arrangements on this model. Sorry for sounding repeatative, but any help would be apprieciated. I have been looking for a old aluminum runabout for some time. I came across this and because of its size made most sense. I have a large family. Most of the runabouts are only 12-14 feet. Not much room or capacity for more than four. I am planning on creating a split cockpit style for the front and possibly wrap around seating for the rear. Vintage styling of course. Something along the lines of an old feathercraft. But on the other hand I would really like to see the original style first. Polishing the exterior is the plan, since the skin is in incredable shape.
Also the trailer has great 50's styled fenders with teardrop shaped brake lights incorporated in the rear of them. Anyone have an idea if these are available or reproduced? Trailer tire w/white walls? And also chrome moon hub caps.
Any info for for these would be great. Thanks guys

I am in the process of repowering, restoring, rewiring, the 1959 Queen Merrie I bought last fall. I am pretty sure the cockpit is the original layout. If you would like to see pictures of the interior of the boat before I ripped it all out to sand and repaint I can provide them.

This thread is over a year old and forum rules don't allow members to post to threads this old. You should start your own thread for your boat and post your pics there. Look forward to seeing the boat.;)
