Re: 1950or1952 10 hp johnson outboard not getting no throttle
A good long soak in carb cleaner and many blasts of compressed air and a toothbrush and Q tips and more cleaner will remove the "varnish" that old fuel can leave inside the carb. No sharp or metal objects should be used in the cleaning process. Do not soak any rubber or gasket parts, they'll not survive.
Gasket sets for that carb are difficult to find. Take the originals to an auto parts shop and get replacement gasket sheets of the proper thickness. Trace the original gasket form onto the sheet, ever so carefully use an exacto kinfe to cut out the replacement.
The "O" rings and such can be found by tiral and error at an auto parts store or a good plumbing supply store. Don't use the old ones, they're not likely to seal well again.
The common problem with these carbs is that someone got "ham -handed" with the needle valve, overtightened it and deformed either its seat or pin. I have no help I can offer for finding replacements other than the maker, these parts were used on a number of different years of engines and carbs, they'll know which ones you need.
