1954Johnson 5.5 (CD10) lower unit questions?

I am working on a 54 Johnson 5.5hp (CD10). Impeller is ordered. Should I open the LU and replace the gaskets. It doesn't leak. Anything else to look for in there? Thanks very much. Jerry Schneberger

There's an old saying..... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". If it's not leaking or faulty in any way, leave it be, just make sure that it has the proper amount of gearlube.
