1955 fastwin fuel connector

i have a 1955 fastwin 15 but i cant get the fuel connector to go all the way on. it will go about quarter inch then acts like something is to small. i looked at all the part numbers for that year and they all look like they use the same fitting by part number. any thoughts?

You are correct, they are all the same. How about the o-rings? Correct ones? Ancient and petrified?

Yea, it sounds like something is lodged in there, that shouldn't be. You may need to take it off the fuel lines and clean it all out.
