I finished rebuilding the carburetor on my 5.5 seahorse but the rebuild kit I bought off of Ebay only came with little cork style o ring type seals for the adjustment screws and I put them in and there's falling apart, I didn't trust using them so I took them out and tried to match them up with the closest size black oring I could find but I'm having trouble getting the adjustment needles in with the orings on there. Is there a trick to installing them or is there a certain size oring they sell for this part alone without having to buy a whole another kit. I have posted a picture of the orings I'm talking about

Typically you put those parts on the needle first and then install the assembly into the carburetor.-----Those packing washers have never fallen apart on me !

I have tried the rubber o-ring thing with poor results. The rubber is too sticky (too much friction), making the needle difficult if not impossible to turn.

The correct packings should be considered a one-time use thing. Take them apart again and they may disintegrate.
