14 ft 1956 Crestliner. It belonged to my Grandfather and has been passed down to me. I am really having a great time restoring it. The only thing I have left to do is Paint the hood and floor. I have been debating on repainting the bottom to give it the original paint. It seems that it will just end up getting scratched. So that i will leave for last. I also plan to color match and paint the 56 Johnson Seahorse that has been a beautiful marriage since the day it hit the water in 56. I will soon have photos of the new black ash seats and a white oak transom.
I have to strip the bottom and that seems like it may take a bit of work.. but that is my next step. Its been a slow rebuild because i still use it for a family fishing boat.

Take a peek at what i have so far..

There are alot of people who do near perfect restorations on the motors just because of the styling and 50's look - good luck with the restoration. If you are like me and not the best mechanic - its not a bad idea to find somebody to change out all the tuneup parts and the impeller. Shouldn't cost alot on that size motor and it keeps the boat original.

Loosk like you got a classic boat thats is in great condition! Good luck with the restorations process! I really just wanted to give you the idea about mounting a steering wheel for your tiller up front. All you need to buy is a rotary steering cable, and a transom support for the cable. The cable will then hook directly to where the tiller did (you must take the tiller off). Might be something for you to think about! Only will cost you about $300.
Good Luck!!
