Hi guys, For the life of me, I cant find the old posts talking about the 2 line to 1 line conversions on the old engines.
Yeah, I know U tube has something to offer but I wanted to wave a flag here so that I get the first "parts order" correct.

Me thinks that Carb removal is first (no problem), and the cover plate is next - which may need a drill/tap performed? (also not a problem)
Anyway, I am fully willing to be subjected to the "I told you so" process - for those who recall the adventures involved with the revival of this motor.
I've gotten over the all original concept.

As a side note, Evinrude no longer offers an electric start 30hp with 15 inch shaft. Forget about trim and tilt w power. Yeah...... wifey made me call.

Going into the intake manifold as you are assuming is ok....on a few motors. However, it is not the smart way to do it on yours. Yours has two "bypass covers" on one side of the powerhead. Remove one of them and drill & tap a hole in it for a hose fitting. Connect that hose to the pulse fitting on a suitable fuel pump (many use a Mikuni). Connect the other pump fittings to tank connector and carburetor. Simply plug the present air hose. That's it.

Frank,
before I drill anything, I am going to post a pic to eliminate all doubt. Boat is at lake and I am in town so its gonna be a while.

Regarding the Mikuniu pump, do you think it can move enuf fuel to satisfy the motor?
Or do I go with another?

One more question,
Found the two bypass covers on the motor. - Wondered if there is a "sweet spot" to do the drilling / tapping?

1Also - where is a good spot to mount thepump?

Sorry for the delay. Boat is in the garage at the lake and we need to go there more often than we do.

Got the Mikuni pump, more fuel line to complete the plumbing process. Ready to get this baby on the water!

Thanks much.

I drill in the center of the cover. Mount the pump as close to carb as you can, with a short a pulse line as you can, while being able to close cowl.
