1956 Johnson Seahorse 5 1/2 Part Numbers

I am rebuilding this motor and I am looking for the part numbers for this motor for the gaskets, impeller kit, carb kit and so on. I have some but I cannot find some also. Much Appreciated, Thanks Eric

If you want the complete water pump kit, which is now made of plastic with stainless steel liners (far better than the old aluminum housing):

The complete plastic kit is 391391 superceded by 763758
The impeller for that is 387361 superceded by 763735

You will think they sent you the wrong pump, but it will fit and work very well.

I need the part numbers for; intake gaskets(2 different ones), exhaust inspection cover, and a fuel pump part number to convert it over. Thanks

I Don't have the exact correct parts book, and I hope I don't lead you astray, but as far as I know:
303439 Exhaust cover gasket
304114 Reed plate to crankcase gasket
304116 reed plate to intake manifold gasket

The '56 is not made to take a fuel pump unless you plan to go the Mikuni route. Somebody around here has the website for that.

Try the above page describing converting to fuel pump. he uses the Mikuni 07-425 fuel pump which may be found on ebay or other places for $10- $20.

Well thanks for the help, now I have found pretty much all the parts except the intake and the exhaust ones. Where could I buy these from? Sorry for dragging this on and on. Thanks

The obvious place to find parts is from your local Johnson or Evinrude dealer. Or on-line from such as ishopmarine.com or laingsoutboard.com or sea-way.com

I ordered all my parts today except for the rings which will be tomorrow. Now all I have to do is get the block punched out and reassemble. Thanks for all the help, I will let ya's know how it turned out.
