1956 Mark 25 Coil replacement. Is there a trick to removing an old coil from its Stator. Is there a small tab that holds the coil in place on the Stator? The coils in this motor might be OEM and aren't budging or I'm doing something wrong. Can someone share a page from a service manual?.

Is the old coil scrap ?----If yes then I would cut it off.----Slide the replacement on.

racerone, They are scrap. I pulled out the windings and got it off. The tab I was talking about is welded to the stator. Thanks for your reply.

Yes, after removing the copper wire there was a cardboard tube that needed to be removed from the laminations. I test fitted coil and it seems to fit and line up ok. Now I need new spark plug wires and do the other side.
