Ok, again this is my buddies motor. Piston were a little
seized from sitting, got those unstuck. Compression both cylinders around 100. Coils, points and condensers look to be in good shape. Still gonna order a carb kit today. He’s trying to find the old dual line tank.
and I think she’ll fire up. What is the oil to gas ratio on this motor? Thx

The ratio back then was 24:1 I believe.-------I have a 7.5 like that and it has not run since I put it together.---Will be running it at 20:1----I have a couple of 1954 model 5.5 , one has not run since 1984 when I put a new crankshaft in it.-----Will run them at 20:1 as well.

Ok thx. I had a 5.5 and a 7.5 as well. Both 1957. 5.5 was in great shape. Wish I kept it, Curious, why would you run it 20:1? Is that for a little more oil?

Motor will run just fine on 20:1 and last many more years.----There are many different opinions on oil / lubrication with 2 stroke engines.

Motor came with a 4 gallon tank, and specified 1 quart of oil to 4 gallons of gas. That's 16:1

Just sayin'

Let the fight go on.
