1958 18 hp johnson dual motor setup?

Is it possible to setup two 1958 18 HP Johnsons motors? I understand in dual motor setups its best to have the props spinning in opposite directions. Can these motors be altered to do that? Also, if this can be done, would it make much of a difference if one was an 18 hp and the other was a 15 HP?

Opposite rotation is " nice to have "-----------Motor can not be easily converted to opposite rotation.------Yes you can run one as a 15 hp and you just need to run both at the same RPM with same props.

Nobody ever heard of counter rotating dual outboards when those were built. But they ran duals all the time with no problem. Just do it.

I've installed the smaller horse power duals like yours and never had any problems.
