After much work of un- stinking my old motor, new coils, points, etc I finally got it running !!! However the dual line fuel tank was leaking under pressure so I ordered a gasket kit. In taking the tank apart and cleaning it for a week in white vinager- all the rust was gone and it looks awesome. In re-asembaling, I cant find part number 31 on the attached link
http://www.marineengine.com/parts/j...=5516&manufacturer=Evinrude&section=Fuel+Tank

Is this part really a "valve" or can I just cut a gasket and put in the hole ??

302136 is the pressure relief valve. It lets air escape if pressure gets too high (for instance sitting in the sun on a hot day).
