1958 Johnson 10 horse prop

The brass center of my prop is turning but the prop is not. I have pushed it out and it appears to have been held in place by a rubber boot that no longer holds one to the other. Can this be fixed and how

Thats whats called a spun prop.

I bought a new prop for a 1970 small Evinrude fro iboats for about $50, delivered.

I dont have access to a boat shop that could fix mine, if they would even try. For me, the wait to get it repaired, no matter how long it'd take, wasnt something I wanted to wait for. If I could have found a place to send it to.

I know a spun prop can be fixed, but for a small outboard, w a small prop, replacement might be quicker and easier.

Hopefully otherembers that have had them.fixed will comment.

I think a new prop is more cost effective; there are 4 or 5 sizes available here at iboats.
