I have a 1958 Johnson 35hp motor. I bought a rebuild kit, will be here soon. The diagram shows two springs with cups. One on each side of the diaphram . When I took the fuel pump apart, one bent spring no cups. Anyone got pic of what is correct. Thanks TOM

Welcome to iboats.

58 was the First yr for a Fuel Pump, on some, but not all of the 35hp

#s 14 and 17? Look at it this way, if both weren't needed, why would the Engineers put both in?

When I took the fuel pump apart there was one spring and no cups. I guess the previous owner lost them. Will repair as per your pics and hope it works. Thanks TOM

parts #15 and the spring #14 were not in the fuel pump when I disassembled it. The diagram is great. I was hoping someone had actually repaired one of these and could say "DO IT LIKE THIS" Thanks Tom

Without those parts it certainly won't pump.
It is a simple device, and goes together quite easily, here is a Cutaway from an actual OMC service manual from the late 50s. Even the Service Manual doesn't have any detailed instructions on Disassembly-Reassembly. There is error; At the bottom fitting, that should have been Fuel to Carb

since it has a nipple/barb to the crankcase to get pulses and if you are unable to restore it back to operation you could always hook-up a more modern fuel pump with an external filter.
