The tiller handle is an addition on my motor. The handle is green and the motor is Crimson Brown. The motor will only start at high speeds and the tiller handle labels don't correlate. All I can guess is the linkage is not right. The motor works everything's fine. How do I synchronize linkage?

Assuming the shift interlock is intact, the correct starting position is put the shift in neutral, then turn throttle as far as it will go toward "Fast". The reading on the dial is seldom accurate. If it won't start at the correct start position as just described, there is something wrong with the motor or your technique.

Only two places the throttle can be out of whack. If the ball gears are worn, they may misalign. Large tooth goes in large gap. Second place is at base of throttle arm if the gear teeth were misaligned. First tooth goes in first valley.
