I am in the middle of working on a 1958 Larson V hull fiberglass boat. when I pulled up the wood floor, there were 2x4's that were supporting the floor, and making it lay level. these 2x4's were screwed into raised sections of the hull. I am about to replace these boards, but I did not notice if they laid directly against the fiberglass bottom or if there was a gap. My concern is vibration causing the boards to rub a hole into the haul. Any advice?

Go to Lowes and buy som PL Adhesive, It's in the cauking paint section. Use this to set your stringers in. It has great adhesion but still =gives some flex to the hull. Make sure to coat your stringers with resin and glass after you set them.

I would trust a man who's username is "woodonglass" :D Yes, resin and glass over top of the stringers, after you pl them in. You want to coat them 100%, making sure no water in the bilge will ever touch them again.
