1959 35hp

will a flywheel from a 57 or 58 fit and work? also i can get it to spark and sputter but not start, getting plenty of fuel, compression seems ok as my arms are sore from pulling. any suggestions on whee to look? this is my first boat, there is alot i dont know.<br />thanks.

The 57-58 flywheel should be the same as the 59, Jin.<br /><br />Go to the Engine FAQs forum and do the troubleshooting for no-start. Let us know what you find.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats.

do not use starter spray to try to start it. if you need to, use some of the premixed gas in a spray or squeeze bottle.

thanks for the advice, i am guessing its a fuel pump or carb issue, too late about the starting fluid though, hope i didnt do to much damage.
