Hey folks so i made another thread a few back with basically the same title. Anyways after getting some insight on my original problem i finally got it running and tuned. It actually runs amazing now and boots me and my family around no sweat. I have noticed there is oil leaking though. Its from under the fly wheel where the majority of it is after a decent run but it will eventually drip down to the bottom of the cowling.... . Can any one shed some lught on what is happening?? Maybe a power head seal or gasket ? Old oil thats heating up and dripping? To rich of a fuel pil mixture ??

It carries oil from the bottom bearing to the top bearing. Doesn't carry "wee". Sorry, just making fun. Boring day.

if not the small vertical hose leaking due to cracks or loose crimp you may have a missing or broken" slinger" ring on top of the engine underneath the ignition plate just Under the cam lobe which opens the points

I always wondered, where does the oil that it carries come from? Does it take it from the oil mixed in with the gas?

Yes of course.---Lubrication inside a 2 stroke engine is not well understood.

my understanding is that crankcase pressures push o?ly gas fumes to the upper bearing area for lubrification

why not replace with clear transparent hose to see that everything is working... use that yellow tubing (it resist gas and oil-)

Yea it's called Tygon. I haven't had any issues with it. It seems to work great and is even diesel resistant!

hey everyone sorry i have not been on in a while. About this hose I did replace it with a 3/16 clear fuel line and at low idle i can confirm the oil does not reach the bearing the 3/16 diameter is to big ....i dropped down a size and i ended up going to the same size fuel line as a weed eater / weed whacker would have and its much much better.

Do you know what size the inside diameter of the weed whacker fuel line is?

Also, what did you use for clamps. I am planning on the same repair.
