I recently bought a 1959 Cressline. At least that's what is says on the title. Anyone ever heard of that brand? It looks alot like a Crestliner Del Rio or Arabian from 1960. Maybe a typo?

Also, any advice on cabling a pulley steering system would be much appreciated. It appears to be unraveled and will not operate correctly. There is a drum on the end of the steering column that has two raceways that I assume are for each side of the pulley. How should they be wrapped? How many times around at center and do they go over or under when coming off the drum and heading to the first pulley in each corner? There is also a small hole on each raceway divider on the drum. Should it thread through there first? What strength of cable should I buy? Vinyl coated or some other material?

If I could get this steering issue solved, we'll be ready for an inaugural run. Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: 1959 Cressline?

You'll Need approximately 30' of 1/4" vinyl covered cable. You can purchase at Lowe's. thread cable thru holes in drums so that you have about 3ft more coming out the side that will go towards the LONG side away from the steering column. long should be the Cable closest to the dash and should wind clockwise over the top about 4-5 wraps and then run to the first pulley. Other cable wraps counterclockwise 4-5 wraps over the top and then runs to the pulley. You should have tension springs back at the transom where the cables hook to the motor.
