1959 johnson 35hp no spark 1 cylinder

Hey there.
Just picked up this motor and pulled out both plugs, visually checked for spark on block bolt and the top cylinder has spark but the bottom cylinder does not. The guy I bought it off claimed he set the points and had it running a few weeks ago. Any thoughts before I start ripping everything apart.
