I have a 1959 Johnson seahorse 10hp in great shape. Last time it ran was three years ago. I dont have a preasureized tank and am having trouble finding one. Thinking of doing the fuel pump conversion. I have many single line tanks. Can anyone tell me what parts I need to get this beast out on the water again.

I'm sorry but remove the intake manifold? That's a little over the top.

Try this.

If you need a twin line tank, contact samo ott or bktheking. They could use a single line tank or two and may make a trade with you.

It's true. Northern NY is close to here and I'd trade a pressure tank with hose for a single line with hose. Are you near Ogdensburg? I'm an hour away.

i mean if you can find a good tank for a good price then i would take the pressure tank. the tank has a safety release valve incase the pressure becomes to much. its much cheaper to rebuild the tank( gaskets hoses etc. but make sure it comes in the complete set. especially the connector. very expensive.

i have the same motor except in a evinrude form. very good motor.:D

I got at least a dozen of em. Just got 2 more this month. But I only have a couple of single lines... A trade is good for me... And him... especially if he knows the connectors cost C$135 new!

I just got a tool in house made by F_R to change out the o-rings, you can borrow it to change a few out, looks pretty slick.

Re: 1959 johnson seahorse 10hp

ive been using the pressure tank since ive restored it my motor. another thing to add is the diaphram in the tank since you only have use it to prime the engine then it will last a very long time probably another 40 years.

not like a fuel pump where its constantly pumping fuel thousands of pulses when running.

if you dont like the idea of pressure and gas dont let me hold you back from getting a single line tank.

also the only bad thing i could think going wrong witht he double line tank is when you turn the motor off you have the remember that motor is still under presssure. but if you have good gaskets. set the float properly. should be fine. i always let the cap on the gas tank loose after i shut the motor off or you can do it before and shut it off
