While waiting for my manual to arrive, I am wondering about "kill switch" wiring. Is it possible that a safety circuit is open that will not allow the ignition to work? I have throttle in "start" and gear shift in "neutral".

At this point,I have removed flywheel. The coils are blue and appear in good condition but are slightly out of alignment. Points do not look as bad as many I have seen in automobiles.

AND, Is the torque for F/W 105ft/lb or 45? Thanks.

105ft/lbs.

To isolate the ignition system from it's kill switch and saftey switches, disconnect and isolate the two low voltage wires that come from armature plate. You will not need to retorque the flywheel to test it out, just set it in place and spin it with your hand. Of course, you'll need to torque it if you intend to start it.
Your vaccum cutout switch (which is attached to the manifold by a hose) should only kill spark on one cylinder.
Clean up those point contacts while you have the flywheel off.
Good luck!

Thanks Paul. It doesn't spin much by hand, but I think I am seeing a blip on the meter as the magnet passes at least one coil. I need another set of hands. Will try again when my son comes over. Getting advice here is great. I really appreciate it. The boat stores around here aren't real interested in small boat folks or old outboards.
